In WRCTE Welding, students will learn skills to advance their careers. They will learn to identify welding symbols and blueprints, understand Weld Procedure Specifications, and demonstrate the use of oxy fuel welding and cutting. Students will make single-pass and multi-pass welds in the flat, horizontal, vertical, and overhead positions with Sheilded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW). They will learn to perform lap, tee-joint, square groove, and v-groove welds with Gas Arc Welding (GAW). For Tungsten Arc Welding (TIG), they will learn to weld pipe in various positions. They will learn to layout and fabricte more advanced projects, and use CNC plasma cutting equipment. They will also learn OSHA workplace safety standards. At the end of the course, students will take the American Welding Society certification exam.
